2025 CSA Season Week Nine
Welcome to August! We’re breezing through the season quickly this year. I can’t believe it’s already heading toward the end of summer! We hope you’re all have a wonderful season so far, and we appreciate you allowing us to tag along on your food journey with you this year.

Just a few things to remember this week!
Don’t forget, I am out of the office for the rest of this week. I’m taking a solo road trip to Cody, Wyoming for a writer’s retreat, then back up into Idaho to spend some time with family. I will be back in the office from on August 11th, so anything from now until the August 15th pack day will not be processed until I’m back in the office.
While I’m gone:
- There will not be anyone checking emails and voicemails. You’re welcome to email, but I will not be responding into I’m back in the office the week of August 11th. Chris and Shannon will try to check voicemails while I’m gone, but they’re super busy on the farm, so those most like will not get returned quickly, and may also wait until I’m back in the office.
- All lists for the next four deliveries have been pulled, so no changes will be able to be made prior to the August 15th pack day, and that delivery still has the 7-day notice deadline, as those lists will be pulled first thing Monday morning. Please make sure you make arrangements for someone else to pick up your share if you can’t get to your share in the next two weeks.
- We will not be able to reroute market comeback boxes while I’m gone, so please make sure to pick up your share! We will also not be doing any makeups for missed shares (that part’s normal, but just in case).
- Because I’m doing things ahead of time today, there will not be any estimate emails this week, or any recipes and handy tips included in this blog.

Since it’s now August, don’t forget to make your payment if you haven’t already!
We are now in August, so we have to mention that pesky inconvenience of payment. (I know, I know, but what can you do? You keep us going.) If you haven’t already made your August monthly payment (due August 1st), please do so at your earliest convenience. For those who paid in two installments, that second payment is is due August 15th.
No one likes to talk about money (least of all me), but we really do rely on the income from CSA shares to keep going smoothly throughout the season. We do have financial assistance again this year (thank you amazing, generous donors!), so if you do need help with the cost of your share, please let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

Make sure you check out our markets this week!
Not getting enough of what you’re hoping for in your boxes? Need a few more things for dinner? Just want to check out the beautiful displays and munch on a carrot as you peruse the market? We’d love to see you! If you’re in Eugene, you can come see us at the Eugene Farm Stand on Wednesdays on 18th and Polk at the Emmaus Church, or on Saturdays at the Lane County Farmers Market. If you’re further north in Portland, check out the King Market on Sundays! Live on the coast or going to be there during the week? We’re at the Florence Farmers’ Market on Tuesdays. Come check us out and say hello!

What’s in your box this week:
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Cherry tomatoes (some sites only)
- Red leaf lettuce
- Strawberries
- Sweet onion
- zucchini
- New Potatoes
We’ll do everything we can to get everything to everyone, but if we aren’t able to, don’t worry! We’re keeping excellent notes. If we don’t get you something this week, we’ll be sure to get you next time it’s available. We appreciate you!

I know this blog is a little short and repetitive, but we still hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy the veggies in your box again this week!
Many blessings,
Chelsea and your Winter Green Farmers
