Happy Holidays from Winter Green Farm!

December 16, 2022

What a year this has been! We’re so grateful to be able to share it with you, and we cannot wait to spend 2023 with you as well. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, full of good food, great memories, and time spent with the ones you love. We look forward another wonderful holiday season, and a happy new year.

Are you interested in joining us for the 2023 CSA Season?

The 2023 CSA Season Sign-ups are open for current members!

Place a $25.00 deposit to hold your share for the 2023 CSA Season! This option is available until January 2, 2023, when signups open to the general public! (SNAP and check payment options are still available, and do not require an online account.)

If you’d like to pay online for your share this year, please note what type of payment plan you want, and I will set up the order for you! Prices have been updated on the share pages, if you would like to take a look at the changes. Due to inflation and the cost of getting you as many delicious veggies as we can next year, we did raise the Standard Season shares by $10.00, and the Extended Season shares by $5.00. We hope you understand that the changes were necessary due to the changes in the economy, but we also want to keep our veggies affordable so we can feed as many of you as possible!

Your payment options:

  • Pay in Full – one payment, due by May 15, 2023. If you pay in full by April 1, 2023, you’ll receive a $10.00 credit to your account!
  • Pay half now, half later – two payments; the first is due by May 15, 2023, the second by August 15, 2023.
  • Pay in monthly installments – five payments, due the 1st of the month from June to October.
  • SNAP – participate in the Double-Up Food Bucks program with your SNAP benefits.

Thank you so much for joining us this season! We’re excited to have you with us for 2023, and can’t wait to go on this food journey with you. Right now, sign-ups are open for current members only, so this is where you’ll choose your site location and your share type, then pay the $25.00 deposit to reserve your share. Shares will be open to the general public on January 2, 2023, at which point the deposit option will no longer be available, and you’ll be able to make a regular payment for your share.

Last year, there was a bit of a hassle with signups, so this year I will be setting them up for you if you place a deposit online. You’re more than welcome to send the deposit by check to avoid the card fees (3%), but if you choose to pay online, I will be setting up the share account for you to avoid duplicate orders. If you would like to wait and do it yourself, please let me know! Please make sure to note which payment plan you would like to use for your share. The default will be to pay in full.

Please Note: We are unable to offer any Extended Season shares to the Reedsport and Coos Bay locations.

This reservation is password protected and by invite only. Please check your email for the password.

We can’t wait for this year’s season to get started, and we’re excited for all the delicious veggies we have in store for you all.

You can get apples and pears in the off-season!

Throughout the CSA season, we’ve partnered with Mt. Hood Organic Farms to bring you delicious apples and pears to enjoy. Mt. Hood Organic Farms would like to bring the fruit directly to you! From now until the end of January, you will be able to get a “no-nonsense,” 10 lb. box (about 20 pieces) of apples, pears, or a combination of the two. The cost is $35.00 per box, plus shipping. They will ship their delicious fruit anywhere in the U.S., with handwritten, personal touches if you’re sending a box to a friend!

This could be that fantastic gift you’ve been looking for this holiday season! You can contact Mt. Hood Organic Farms by email at [email protected].

Mt. Hood Organic Farms is located at the base of Mt. Hood in the Upper Hood River Valley, in an uncommonly beautiful part of Oregon. They’ve been around since the turn of the century, and their gorgeous grounds are perfect for both growing fruit through sustainable farm practices, and hosting beautiful wedding venues. Their pear and apple orchards boast near one hundred different varieties, and we’re so thrilled we get to connect you with this chance for a taste of their magnificent, organic, biodynamic produce. Visit their website to learn more about their operation, or contact John directly to place an order!

Are you looking for a job next summer?

It’s that time of year again, and Winter Green Farm is already gearing up for the 2023 season. Do you know someone interested in working on a farm next year? We have job openings! We will be looking for amazing people to work on our harvest crew here at the farm, as well as incredible delivery drivers for our CSA deliveries. We’re also looking for wonderful people to work our farmers’ markets in Eugene at the Lane County Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and in Portland at the King Market on Sundays! If you or someone you know is interested, fill out an application and let us know! We would love to hear from you!

We’re looking for your opinion for the new year.

We’ve made a lot of changes at the farm over the last couple years, and we hope to make many more in the future to make our CSA program even better. So…we want to hear from you! We’re sending out a survey to get your take on things like price increases, merchandise options, farm calendars, and the types of veggies we put in your CSA shares. Whether you’re returning to the CSA next year, or you’re a past member, we would love to hear your opinion! The survey will be going out to members on our email list, for both past and current members. Keep an eye out for it in the next week! If you wouldn’t mind taking the time to fill it out, we would love to see what you think!

This is our last weekend at the Lane County Farmers’ Market for 2022!

This weekend is our last weekend at the Lane County Farmers’ Market until after the new year! We’ll have root veggies, burdock, brussel sprouts, winter squash, and bunched greens for you to enjoy! We are taking some time off for the holidays, so we’ll be back at the LCFM in February, and back at the King Market in Portland and the Eugene Farm Stand in June. If you’re in the area and looking for something to do this weekend, come on down and say hello! We would love to see you.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Many blessings,

Chelsea and your Winter Green Farmers
