Welcome to 2024!

January 5, 2024

We’ve made it to the new year! We hope you all had a great holiday season, filled with fun, laughter, love, and lots of great food. We’re looking forward to the 2024 CSA Season with you!

We’ve made great headway on next season!

One of the hardest things about the doing the CSA is getting enough members to make the season as great as we’d like. The last couple years, we’ve fallen a little short, and the struggles with the economy, weather, staffing, and lower membership rates have been challenged us to rise to the occasion, but we can’t tell you how excited we are to start the new year with close to half of the shares we’re hoping to fill for this coming season. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of you who took advantage of our price special and signed up to join us this year! Your support of the farm keeps us going in more ways than one, and we are so grateful for all of you!

Would you like to join us for the 2024 CSA Season?

If you haven’t signed up already, don’t worry! Our signups are still open, and we have plenty of shares available for the 2024 CSA Season! We have both Standard and Extended Full Shares available, as well as Standard and Extended Half Shares, and our 5-week Extended Season Only share that spans the last five weeks of the season. Returning Members get a $10.00 discount, so if you’re interested in joining us this season, shoot me an email at [email protected] and I’ll get you all set up!

Our membership is also open for new members, so if you know someone who’s interested or have an idea of a place that could use a Winter Green flier, talk us up! We would love add new members to our Winter Green family.

Update on the Winter CSA boxes idea

Thank you so much to everyone who expressed interest in our Winter CSA box! If you missed the email, we’re toying with the idea of doing a monthly CSA box that would help bridge the gap between seasons. We’re looking at filling it with 2 to 5 pounds each of our storage crops like potatoes, beets, squash, turnips, radishes, onions, etc. We don’t have a projected crops list yet, as it will be determined by what we’re able to do if we’re able to get started this winter, but if you’re interested in the idea, let me know!

We didn’t get as much interest as we would need to make it feasible for January, but we’re still open for next month, or even next year! Right now, we’re looking at 100 spots total, and we would need 50 in the Eugene/Springfield/Noti area to get started. To deliver to the coast or Portland, we would need 50 members in that area as well to be able to make the drive, as well as a delivery site since we aren’t at the market. We have less than half for the Eugene area at the moment, and five or less from the coast and Portland. But! We’re hoping that will change and we’ll be able to give this idea a go!

(If you’ve already expressed interest, I do have you on our list, and I’ll be in touch when we have more information.)

We hope you’re all starting this year off the way you want, and putting your energy into a fantastic 2024. We look forward to spending the summer with you!

Many blessings,

Chelsea and your Winter Green farmers
