2026 CSA Season Week One!

June 9, 2026

Welcome to the first week of the 2026 CSA Season! The farm is buzzing with activity this week and we are so happy to have you with us! Everything we grow here at the farm is organic and biodynamic, and when we include fruits from other farms (blueberries, apples, pears) those are organic as well. We can’t wait to share the farm’s bounty with you this summer and we look forward to tagging along on your food journey!

Have you joined our CSA yet?

We do still have shares available for this season, but they’re going quick! We encourage you to sign up now. Every share helps to support the farm and keep the CSA going. We appreciate all of your support!

We will still have full shares and half shares on the same schedule format as last year, so half shares will have a Group A and a Group B schedule on alternating weeks. Our 20-week season will again go from June to October, and prices for all our delivery options remain the same as the 2025 season.

We will have deliveries to Eugene, Springfield, Portland, Florence, Mapleton, Veneta, and Noti. As of now, all the delivery sites remain the same except the High Street location in Eugene. Our new site for that area will be on E 36th, at the home of one of our members, Karena Norton.

The first pack day of the season is TODAY, Tuesday, June 9th!

You can place your order for the 2026 CSA Season here.

(Tuesday morning surprised us with a beautiful rainbow to kick off the first pack day of our 2026 CSA season!)

Tips and tricks for a smooth season!

  • Help us keep everyone healthy by only touching your own share.
  • Don’t forget to check your name off the list, so we know you got your share!
  • Shoot me an email at least a week ahead of time if you need to change your delivery schedule. We require at least 7 days’ notice.
  • Contact your site host before the 7pm deadline if you aren’t able to get your share during the delivery window.
  • Please bring your own bag or box, so you can leave the farm totes at the delivery site. We would appreciate it if you stacked them nicely to help out both your site host and your delivery drivers!
  • Keep an eye on your emails for information from the farm! Let us know if you aren’t getting them, as that’s how we communicate with you!
  • Only take a box if your name is on the list. We only pack enough for the members listed, so if your name isn’t there, please contact the farm for a makeup during the next delivery or a credit to your account.
  • Please do not take any extras at the delivery site unless your name is on them. We appreciate your cooperation!

Are you going on vacation? Let us know!

Please make sure you let us know if you have changes for the second week of delivery (the week of June 16th) by June 9th. Any vacation requests for Week Two submitted after that date will not be able to be processed. Thank you so much for your understanding and help in keeping us organized!

We do our best to plan ahead as much as possible to avoid any last-minute mistakes, so if you need to change a pickup or a site or any of the above, please let us know at least seven days in advance. This means seven days from the nearest change. If you’re changing a scheduled day from Friday to the previous Tuesday, I would need to know seven days from Tuesday to make sure our lists are accurate and that our harvest team can account for the changes.

We do have a few options for how to reschedule your boxes this season:

  • You can reschedule to a different day and location in the same week to still get that week’s produce.
  • For half share members, you can reschedule for an off week. For full share members, you can choose a double share for the week of your choosing.
  • We can offer up to two vacation coupons to be used at any of our markets.
  • You can have a friend pickup your share (we don’t need to approve this option).
  • We can donate your share to Food for Lane County.

We are happy to oblige with all of these options, just please make sure to let us know as soon as possible, and at least a week in advance. Thank you so much!

We will mostly communicate through email!

We will be sending out emails each week to let you know what’s in the box! The blog will go out on Tuesdays. It will contain important announcements, what’s happening at the farm, what you can expect in your share each week, and recipes to help inspire your time in the kitchen!

You’ll also be getting an email on Mondays or Thursdays, depending on your delivery day, with an estimate of what you can expect in your box. These lists come from the harvest crew and are more of an estimate than a final list. We also aren’t able to guarantee Tuesday/Wednesday deliveries will be the same as the weekend deliveries, but we will do our very best to get you the veggies we promised for this season. If we don’t get you one week, we’ll get you the next week that vegetable is available.

(Please note: we can’t guarantee half shares will receive all the veggies offered throughout the season due to availability, but we’ll try our best.)

If you aren’t getting emails, please let me know! You can reach me at folks@wintergreenfarm.com, and I can check to make sure you’re on our list.

Please let us know if you need to cancel your share

We understand that things happen and you may need to opt out of your share this season. We get it! However, in order to cancel a share and refund any qualifying payments, we will need that cancelation in writing. Non-payment or not picking up your shares without letting us know you’re opting out does NOT count as canceling and you will still be financially responsible for whatever shares have already been delivered.

In that same vein, if you signed up to pay by SNAP and have not confirmed your SNAP info or arranged another payment arrangement by June 1st, we will have to pause your share until we have payment information. If this pertains to you, you will have received multiple emails by now requesting that information. Please let me know as soon as possible so we can keep you signed up this season!

Please let me know if you will not be with us for this season so we can adjust your account accordingly. We appreciate you!

What’s in your box this week:

  • Peas
  • Onion
  • Turnip
  • Radish
  • Spinach
  • Lettuce

Because it’s the beginning of the season, it’s a little on the smaller side, but don’t worry! By the time we get to the end, your boxes will be heavy and abundant!

Right now, we’re hoping to get everything to everyone, but if we aren’t able to get something to your site this week, don’t worry! We’re keeping excellent notes. If we don’t get you this time, we’ll be sure to get you next time!

Handy Tips:

  • Snap Peas: Snap peas are best stored in a plastic bag in your fridge. You can eat them as they are, in a stir fry, or salad, or try a fun new recipe!
  • Spinach: Rinse spinach leaves in cool water and pat them dry with a towel or “spin dry” as you would lettuce. Store in a damp towel or plastic bag for up to a week. Spinach can be steamed, sauteed, eaten raw, or added to soups at the last minute. For long-term storage, you can freeze spinach, then blanch it for 1 to 2 minutes. Spinach cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook. Look for a bright green color. Two to three pounds of fresh spinach will reduce to two cups when cooked.
  • Radishes: Radishes may need a good scrubbing, even after our crew has washed them, but do not need to be peeled. Trim off any damaged areas. Store them in a damp towel or plastic bag in the refrigerator. Store green tops separately, wrapped in a damp towel. Use as soon as possible.
  • Turnips: Cut turnip greens from their roots and store separately. Keep dry, unwashed greens in a sealed plastic bag in your fridge. Thicker greens will keep up to two weeks. Tender ones should be eaten within a week. To store turnips, place them in a plastic bag, unwashed, in the crisper bin of your fridge. Due to high water content, turnips may deteriorate quickly, but most should keep for a week.

What we’re making this week:

  • Spinach– You’re probably familiar with Caprese Salad, but if not… this is a definite “crowd-pleaser” and is one of my favorite ways to use tomatoes & spinach. Have you tried making your own Spinach Pesto? Here’s a simple way to jazz up your weekly pasta night (or enjoy this homemade pesto as a dip with carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes or fresh cucumber slices).
  • Radishes– This crisp Radish Salad includes some of my FAVORITE summertime flavors! I haven’t yet tried this recipe, but you can bet it’s going on my dinner menu for this coming week!
  • Turnips– You may be less familiar with these cruciferous vegetables. Turnips are nutritional powerhouses, packed with fiber, vitamins C and K and disease-fighting antioxidants. After you try these Parmesan Crusted Turnips, you may be tempted to push your parmesan chicken recipe aside for the season. I think you’re going to LOVE this one!
  • LettuceLettuce wraps are a family favorite around my house. This recipe is quite versatile, so get creative and try making these with your favorite protein. We typically use ground chicken, but let us know what you think!
  • Onions– There are so many ways to incorporate onions in your home cooked meals! Here’s one of my favorites… Grilled Onions. Grilling onions brings out the natural sugars and transforms them into something sweet and smoky. The caramelized texture makes these the perfect finishing touch for your favorite burgers. I love pairing grilled onions with a juicy steak or tossing them with sautéed mushrooms.
  • Snap peas– Snap peas are a delicious and healthy “grab-and-go” snack. This Sugar Snap Pea Salad puts a fresh spin on a summertime favorite!

We look forward to hearing creative new ways you’re enjoying your Winter Green produce. Send us an email with some of your favorite recipes and suggestions!

Introducing Summer!

Hi, I’m Summer and I’m very excited to be joining the Winter Green Farm team! I’ll be stepping in as the new CSA Coordinator and Office Administrator. Chelsea has done an AMAZING job the past 5 years of giving you regular insights into what’s happening on the farm and I know she has worked hard to ensure that the CSA is running smoothly. I will do my very best to make sure things continue to run smoothly as we kick off the 2026 CSA season. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and introduce yourselves. I am really looking forward to meeting you!

A bit about me… I was born and raised in Northern California. My family & I moved to nearby Veneta in 2018. My favorite color is green. June is my absolute favorite time of year in Oregon and I love spending time outside hiking, gardening, camping and exploring! I’m mom to 4 fantastic kids. In my “free time” I stay busy on my little 2 acre homestead managing my high-strung Australian Shepherd, a small flock of chickens & 9 ducks. I’m passionate about farming and I’m grateful to be working alongside such wonderful people!

Say hi to Kate at the Lane County Farmers’ Market!

Come check out our markets this week!

We’re back in Florence at the farmers’ market on Tuesdays from 3pm to 6pm.

Come see us in Portland at the King Market on Sundays from 10am to 2pm.

As always, if you’re in Eugene, we have an abundance of delicious produce at the Lane County Farmers’ Market! We’re there every Saturday from 9am to 2pm at 8th and Oak. We would love to see you!

Beginning this week, we are also in Eugene on Wednesdays:
Our Eugene farm stand will be located at the Emmaus Lutheran Church (1250 W. 18th Ave) during the Standard Season. This market will be open from 2pm to 6pm (but please try to pick up your order sooner rather than later so our crew can begin to break down the market).

We’re excited to see you at one of our markets!

Things are happening quickly this season and we can’t tell you how much we appreciate your support. Thank you so much for being part of our Winter Green family!

Many blessings,

Chelsea and your Winter Green farmers
