The CSA Season is almost here!

May 31, 2024

June begins tomorrow, which means we have less than two weeks until the season begins! The farm is growing, the energy is buzzing, and our crew is working hard to get everything ready for the beginning of the CSA! We’re so excited to be able to tag along on this food journey with you!

Welcome packets have all been sent out!

It took me a little while (sorry about that), but all the Welcome Packets have officially been sent out! If you have not received your electronic packet, check your spam/junk folders, then shoot me an email and I’ll resend it. Likewise, if you don’t have attachments in that email, let me know as well. The last of the physical copies have been popped in the mail, so if you haven’t already, you should be getting your physical copy here soon. Thank you all so much for your patience!

A couple things to note when perusing your Welcome packet:

  • The phone number for Sarah Lane is incorrect on some of the delivery info. The correct number to reach Sally is 541-953-3599. Please make a note so you have the correct phone number.
  • The Lane County Farmers’ Market is on Saturday. For some reason, the form said Tuesday and I didn’t catch it. It will ALWAYS be on Saturday.
  • The physical copies were printed much earlier, so if you have paid on your balance but the paper copy says you still owe, double check your electronic account summary or shoot me an email. I tried to update all of those before they went out, but I wasn’t able to reprint everything. I’m always happy to confirm payment, and will be updating the website to catch up all the invoice in the next week or so. I appreciate your patience as I slog through the admin and prep for the season!

Let me know if you’re going on vacation!

Now that you’re getting your schedules, if there is a date that doesn’t work for you, please let me know! For the first delivery, I will need any changes by June 4th. That week gets pretty busy as we’re working on starting up, so that date will be for all deliveries for Week One.

After that, any changes to your schedule will need to be received at least 7 days prior to the change. For example, if you have a Friday delivery and you want to pick up that Tuesday instead, I will need the vacation request seven days before that Tuesday. Or, if you pickup on Friday and want to change to the following week, I would need the change seven days before that Friday. It’s been a long week, so I’m hoping that makes sense. If it doesn’t or you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. I’m happy to answer whatever questions I can!

If you haven’t received your Welcome Packet yet (you will!) or if you ever need to know the delivery schedules, you can find that on our website here.

If you need to see our other delivery site options to change for either vacation or permanently move your pickup site, you can find that on our website here.

Is your account all caught up and ready for the season to start?

The May 15th deadline has come and gone, and deliveries begin in just a couple weeks! If you haven’t made your payment or set up your payment arrangement, now is the time to do so. Keeping our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program alive requires help from the community. We plan for the veggies, the time, and the labor to feed as many people as we can, but the hard truth is that money is what keeps that going. If you’ve reserved your share but haven’t reached out to make a payment, please do so as soon as you can! There are still quite a few members that haven’t made payments yet, and the farm relies on that income to finish up this last stretch before the season begins. Please help us keep the program going by meeting those deadlines and paying off or setting up an arrangement to cover your share. If you don’t have the link in your email, you can find your order by logging into our website and going to your “Orders” page. Thank you so much for all your help with this. We appreciate you!

For those that have already paid in full or made an arrangement, thank you so much! Every bit helps, especially with inflation so high these days. We appreciate each and every one of you–and you all help Chris sleep a little easier at night!

For anyone who needs financial assistance to help cover the cost of their share, please reach out to me at [email protected]. We’ve had some truly generous donors the last couple years, so we can help.

Today is the last day of the referral contest!

DID YOU KNOW??? The best way for us to get the word out about Winter Green Farm is you! In order to fill our last remaining spots for the season, we’re running a contest for referrals! For the month of May, the person who sends us the most referrals for the CSA season will get 2 free weeks for your share, or the market card equivalent if you’re not a member, but win the contest! Today is the last day, so make sure anyone who joins includes your name!

Tell your friends, tell your family, share our posts on social media to your community groups, to your neighbors, or those strangers at the store. Just make sure they use your name! At the end of the month, we’ll tally up the numbers and announce a winner! @wintergreenfarm on Facebook and Instagram.

We work with SNAP and the Double-Up Food Bucks program, which will match payments for up to half your share, and thanks to our truly generous donors, we also have financial assistance available for those that might need it. We’re always happy to help!

New members can join through our website (and leave your name in the notes), or they can shoot me an email at [email protected] to answer any questions they might have. Help us support the farm, and get talking! We’ll announce the winner on our social media next week!

Come see us at our farmers’ markets this weekend!

We’ll have lots of strawberries at our markets this weekend, but hurry! They go quick! You can find us on Saturdays at 9am at the Lane County Farmers’ Market in Eugene, or on Sundays at 10am at the King Farmers’ Market in Portland. We’ll have lettuce, turnips, and other root veggies, as well as a whole lot more. Come stock up and say hi!

The Eugene Farm Stand on 18th and Polk in Eugene will begin Wednesday, June 12th, from 2pm to 6pm.

We are so excited to get the season up and running, and we cannot wait to share the delicious bounty with you this year. Thank you all so much for your support and friendship throughout the years. As always, it’s our pleasure to work with each and every one of you!

Many blessings,

Chelsea and your Winter Green farmers
