With just a few more months to go before the CSA season begins, 2023 is going fast! We hope you’re all looking forward to warmer weather and delicious veggies as much as we are! We cannot wait to go on this food journey with you this summer. Our mission is to feed as many people as we can, and each and every one of you contribute to that!
Would you like to join us for the 2023 CSA Season?
The 2023 CSA Season officially opened on January 2, 2023. If you’re a new member, hop on over to our website and signup for a share! HOWEVER, if you were a member in 2022 and want a share for 2023, go ahead and send me an email instead. We do offer a $10.00 discount for being a returning members that I can only implement online if I set up the order. So, for those who have already let me know they want to reserve a share, I have set up those orders online. If you didn’t receive an invoice in your email and don’t see an order when you login to your account, let me know so I can get it fixed! Technology doesn’t always cooperate like we think it will.
If you would like to join us again this year, please shoot me an email at [email protected] so I can make sure your online invoice includes that discount, the $25.00 deposit if you paid one, and any credits from 2022. If you create the order yourself, I cannot add those discounts/credits on your end, and they will only be reflected on your account on my side.
It also saves you time! I’m setting up the order and then emailing the invoice to you, so all you have to do is decide how you want to proceed. You’re more than welcome to pay online (plus that 3% transaction fee) or send a check, either personal or direct from your bank. If you would like to pay by SNAP, that’s fine too! We are still open to all payment types we have accepted in the past.
Our Payment Plan Options:
- Pay in full: If you would like to pay in full, no problem! The due date for full payments is May 15, 2023. However, if you pay in full by April 1, 2023, we’ll offer an additional $10.00 discount!
- Pay in two equal payments: If you would like to pay in two payments, we are happy to work with you! The first payment will still be due by May 15, 2023, and the second payment will be due by August 15, 2023.
- Pay in monthly installments: We completely understand needing to spread out your payments, and we’re happy to help with that! We do ask that you make the payment in five installments, due the 1st of each month from June to October. We are still happy to take post-dated checks if that’s your preference.
- Pay with SNAP: We are more than happy to work with SNAP and the Double-up Food Bucks program! If you used SNAP last year, I will set up your online accounts with that payment option. If you’re no longer with SNAP, just let me know and I’ll make the adjustments. If you’re a new SNAP member this season, shoot me an email with the name on your SNAP account, the card number, and your benefit loading day. SNAP confirmations will be going out in the next month or so, so you’ll have an idea of your monthly payments and the matched DUFB benefit.
If you need financial assistance, please let me know either by filling out the request form or sending me an email, and I will get you on the list. Once we know how much assistance we will have for this season, I will be able to apply the amounts to the requests to make sure we can help as many people as possible. Please note, we have to have an order to get you on the list!
If you get an online invoice and you’re no longer interested in a share for the 2023 season, just let me know! I’m going off my list of requests that I received from October to now, and I did not add anyone to the 2023 list automatically. That said, if changes to your share type need to be made or you’d like to cancel altogether, no problem! It’s an easy fix, so just let me know by email at [email protected].
We’re still looking for a site host in the Bedford Way/Wingate Drive area!
Tianna and Travis, our amazing site hosts, have let us know they will be moving from their Wingate Street home. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to work with us for the 2023 CSA Season. We truly appreciate everything they’ve done for us this season, and it’s been a pleasure to have them as site hosts. Thank you, Tianna and Travis, for stepping up this year and donating your time and home this season! It’s been wonderful working with you!
If you’re interested in becoming a Winter Green Farm site host in the Wingate Street or Bedford Way area (over near Oakway and Coburg Road), please let us know! We would love to hear from you!
What’s going on at the farm:
This weather has been a little challenging with all the snow and ice out here in Noti, but don’t worry! We’re still working really hard to get all the veggies in the ground. Next week, we’ll be looking to plant leeks, onions, cucumber, and summer squash. So many yummy veggies! I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait. We’re also seeing more babies every day! We have lambs and even a calf or two so far! They’re so cute!
Would you like to donate to our Financial Assistance or Education programs?
We’ve been so blessed here at the farm to have so many wonderful donors to our financial assistance and education programs. We’ve worked with programs like SNAP and That’s My Farmer to be able to help many members who otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy our Winter Green produce, and from all of us here at the farm, and all the members who have benefited from your generosity, we’d just like to give you a huge thank you for your kindness and contribution! Not only have you helped us provide for members who need the assistance, but you’ve helped us donate 3,287 meals to those in need through Food for Lane County! We couldn’t be more proud of our Winter Green Family. Thank you all so much!
I can’t believe how fast this year is going! It’s already March, and the season is coming up quick! We hope you’re staying safe as winter finishes off with a snowy wave, and your March is filled with wonderful days as we wait for Spring. We’re excited for the upcoming season, and we’re so glad you’re joining us.
