Welcome to Week Eleven, fellow Oregonians! August is rolling right along, but while the calendar declares fall is coming, the weather didn’t get the memo. It has been hot, hot, hot! Special Announcements: Covid-19 cases are surging in Oregon, and the mask mandate is back in place. While the mandate is for indoor mask use, we are urging everyone to be cautious and wear masks if other people are picking up their shares at the same time. Welcome to the tenth week of the 2021 CSA Season! We are now halfway through the standard season and going strong. The boxes are getting heavier, the veggies are vibrant, and everything is delicious. Special Announcements: We’ve had a few people let us know pints have been missing from the flats lately, especially with the strawberries. Please remember not to take any fruits and veggies except those in your own box unless your name is on them. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: THAT’S MY FARMER ANNUAL BENEFIT A HUGE SUCCESS! The That’s My Farmer Benefit dinner held at Party Downtown Restaurant last night was a huge success! While we usually host the annual sit down dinner with 60 guests attending, this year’s “take out” version enabled us to serve 119 dinners! Thanks to the attendees ticket sales, and very generous donations from the community, we were able to raise over $6,000 for the Low Income Fund. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: THAT’S MY FARMER BENEFIT DINNER The annual “That’s My Farmer” Benefit dinner is scheduled for October 12th this season, with take out dinners scheduled from 5pm through 7pm. The meal will be created by the chef’s of Party Downtown, using donated produce and meats from partnering CSA farmers. The meal is always outstanding, and the proceeds go into the That’s My Farmer low income fund to support families in need with subsidized CSA shares or produce from Markets.
